Abstract

Süleyman Sani Ahundov, who is a member of the last generation of Azerbaijan before the Soviet revolution, is one of the important authors who contributed to the development of contemporary Azerbaijani literature. He is one of the leading figures who has contributed remarkably to the civilized development of the Azerbaijan Turkish people. Mr. Süleyman, known as a teacher, pedagogue, children's literature writer, dramatist, story writer and journalist in Azerbaijan, uses the pseudonym "Sani", which means "second" to emphasize his difference from Mirza Fethali Ahundov, who bears the same surname in the field of literature. He attracts more attention with his works he has given in the fields of story and children's literature, especially in theatre. Graduated from Gori School of Elementary School Teachers (Seminar of Teachers), he worked as a teacher and school principal for many years, and throughout his life, he continues intensive activities in the field of education as well as literature. Striving for the education of the new generation in accordance with the requirements of the age, Ahundov struggles with ignorance, lack of education, inertia, superstitions and injustice against women. Taking into account the needs of the schools in that period, Süleyman Sani, who worked together with his close friends, prepares comprehensive school books and annual lesson plans and programs. He writes didactic and educational stories for children. The author, who took active roles in the first congress of Azerbaijani teachers, makes a proposal for the improvement of the Arabic alphabet based on the project he prepared beforehand. Our aim with this article is to ensure that Süleyman Sani Akhundov is properly introduced in Turkey and to lead scientists who will conduct new scientific research about him.
