Abstract

After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the proclamation of independence of the Turkic republics, a period of development began on the wave of scientific and cultural ties between Turkey and Azerbaijan. The Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature, established in Turkish universities since 1992, played an exceptional role in this process. Today, 19 universities in Turkey have departments of contemporary Turkish dialects and literatures. In many of these departments, Azerbaijani Turkish and literature is taught as compulsory and as optional courses in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Sources in this area are necessary for teaching or researching the Azerbaijani Turkish and literature in good a shape, for defining and writing dissertation topics. The most important difficulties here are the lack of textbooks, unawareness of the sources published in Azerbaijan, or difficulties with access to these sources, the inability to follow new publications etc. This article, first of all, lists the problems that arise in the study and teaching of the Azerbaijani Turkish and literature, and identifies the difficulties. Then, in order to solve the difficulties that researchers and students working in this field face when accessing resources, information is provided on electronic libraries that will satisfy the information needs for studying the Azerbaijani Turkish and literature. In addition, the article explains how to access recently published books, collected information on virtual dictionaries, encyclopedias and anthologies, e-books, websites, audiobooks and databases.
