Abstract

In terms of historical text readings, the language of words, idioms,proverbs, words, etc. structures are separate issues worth researching.Text readings also shed light on the changes in the sound and meaning inthe words taken up to shed light on different subjects related to Turkishvocabulary. It is possible to follow the sound changes of the words fromthe past to the present, the way they are used, the changes of meaning andthe subtleties in historical texts.Scanning Dictionary (Tarama Sözlüğü) is an important dictionarybased on witnesses taken from the texts of Old Anatolian Turkish. Forthis reason, Turkish language and literature researchers often apply toScanning Dictionary. This dictionary contains many witnesses from theSüheyl ü Nevbahâr masnavi.In the texts of Old Anatolian Turkish, there are many Arabic wordsthat have undergone phonetic changes. Some of the Arabic words thathave been phonetically changed in the texts of the Old Anatolian Turkishcan be confused with the Turkish words and can be similar to the soundthat may cause misleading. In such cases, there may be problems orinaccuracies in the reading and interpretation of the words in question. Inthis article the word of the kazılu, which was misunderstood both in Suheylü Nevbahâr and Scanning Dictionary and also which was witnessed underthe wrong item is emphasized. In addition, the sound events, the structureand meaning of the word kazılu are emphasized.
