On Zhelmoguz Motive in Er Toshtuk and Zhoodarbeshim Epics

Abstract
Motives in Kyrgyz epic works like Manas, Semetey, Seytek, Er Toshtuk, Zhoodarbeshim, Kurmanbek, Seyitbek, Shyrdakbek, Zhanysh Bayish, Er Tabyldy, Zhanyl Myrza and Maid Dariyka have always been the subject of interest and researches. In Kyrgyz epic works\dastans heroes are gifted with incredible power, horse, arms and clothings. In other words, from the beginning till the end of the story we may witness mightiness of every single thing. The heroes in the epic works always face with obstacles and struggle with enemies, who possess incredibly tremendous power and are not easily killed, and represented by giants or heroes or even by beasts.The second part of the epic Er Toshtuk represents the epic Zhoodarbeshim. Zhoodarbeshim epic also plays a unique role in the Kyrgyz epic tradition like famous trilogies Manas and Kurmanbek. In this circle Zhoodarbeshim accomplishes his father's deeds and goes for a long adventurous trip. However, Er Toshtuk takes a long journey into the underworld, but Zhoodarbeshim goes on a trip to the mysterious world. At the end of the epic, both warriors safely return to their motherlands after the severe struggle with their enemies.In this article the main attention is paid to the character of Zhelmoguz who plays an important role in both epics.
