External Factors that Shape Literary Works and the Example of “Hophopname”

Abstract
Comparative literature in its broadest sense is the comparison of the literatures or literary works. Whatever the scope and purpose of the study of comparison is there is bound to be differences or similarities. At this point a considerable number of similarities are the consequence of mutual interaction.The beginning of the 20th century in Azerbaijan marks the period in which different trends dominated the literature as well. Foreign political, economic and sociocultural events and developments in the world played an important part in this new formation process. As a matter of fact we can trace those influences in many of the works written during this period. "Hophopname", the compilation of poems written by Mirza Ali Ekber Sabir, is one of such works; yet holds a special place due to a number of features
