Abstract

Reverberations or reflections "imitative words, onomatopoeia" reflect all the sounds made by living or dead creatures. They describe their appearances and actions. These words provide an explanation through taste, smell and touch about the senses felt only by individual himself. Reverberations and reflections occupy an important historical category in linguistics. They were matter of discussion in various fields from the origin of language theories to the "arbitrariness" principle, one of the basic of linguistics, whether contradicts with them or not.In this research, we found sizable number of examples of reverberations and reflections in the "Divanu Lugatit Turk" -the compendium of the language of Turkwhich is one of the most important sources of Turkology and we tried to categorize them according to their meanings and functions
