Türk dilinin büyük ustası Yunus Emre'nin şiirlerinde ölüm teması, farklı, zarifve çarpıcı ifadelerle örtülü bir şekilde işlenmiştir. Soğuk ve benimsenmesi zor olanölüm, Yunus'un diliyle belki de en güzel ifade biçimlerine kavuşmuştur. Öyle ki ecelşerbetiyle tatlandırılan ve sevgili olan Allah'a kavuşmak için bir aracı niteliğindekiölüm, ona göre hiç de korkulacak bir olgu değildir. Şiirlerini ölüm gerçeğinin bilinciyleören Yunus, kullandığı güzel ve ilgi çekici ifadelerle ölümü âdeta sevdirir. YunusEmre'nin din anlayışı ve ölüme bakışı, onun ölümü ifade biçimlerini belirleyen temelhususlardır. Bütün çıplaklığıyla ölümü anlatırken başvurduğu örtülü söz ve sözcükler,ölüm kavramı ile ilgili Türkçeye kazandırılan ölümsüz ifadelerdir.Hem biçimsel hem anlamsal olarak zenginlik arz eden bu örtmeceler, Yunus'unşiirlerini ebedî yapan etkili bir anlatım tarzıdır. Theconcept of death which is cold and hard to adopt gained perhaps the most beautifulexpression within the language of Yunus Emre. For him death is not a phenomenonthat should be feared by, it is a sorbet flavored means by which a human being reachesthe real beloved God. Yunus who weaves his poetry with the awareness of the realityof death makes death seem beautiful by using appealing phrases. Predominantly the concept of religion and perception of death in his mind define the expression styleof death in his poetry. All the straightforward and unambiguous words he uses explainingdeath are immortal phrases that are donated to the Turkish language relateddeath. The euphemisms which encompass both formal and semantic richness is aneffective narrative style of poetry that makes Yunus eternal. The fact that majorityof his works are in Turkish is another important feature showing the richness of theexpressions.
